At Night Zookeeper, we’ve always believed that learning should feel like an adventure. Our goal is to help children feel confident and creative through our online learning program and App which makes kids actually want to learn!

Over the years, millions of young writers have built their zoos, created colorful characters, and discovered their love of storytelling. But we also know that every child learns differently. While some thrive when given total creative freedom, others need a little more structure and direction to reach their full potential.

That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the next evolution of Night Zookeeper: Quests.

Quests is a brand-new addition to our program, designed to guide children through structured learning topics, without ever limiting their imagination - and it's included in a Night Zookeeper subscription!

Why was Quests created?

We love hearing from families all around the world who use Night Zookeeper. Many parents told us they adore the creativity and freedom their children enjoy, but also wanted a clearer path through the learning materials. Some children needed more guidance to stay motivated or to see their progress more clearly.

Quests was built to meet that need, while ensuring that kids can still have the creative freedom the choice based-learning aspect of the program provides. It brings a logical, story-driven structure to the Night Zookeeper world, world while preserving the creative freedom that makes it so special.

Each Quest covers a new learning topic, giving young writers a sense of direction while keeping the magic and fun that make Night Zookeeper so unique. It’s the perfect blend of open-ended creativity and goal-driven progress.

Who is Quests for?

Quests is designed for every kind of young writer, no matter their learning style or starting point. Whether your child is brand new to writing or already loves creating stories, Quests provide a personalized experience that meets them where they are, and helps them grow every step of the way. It's fully adaptable to your child's learning level, and brings a brand new learning curriculum with clearly outlined teaching points. Here's how kids, parents, tutors, teachers, and homeschoolers can benefit from the new feature:

And for children who thrive on exploration, our award-winning choice-based learning options are still available. Kids can continue to enjoy thousands of writing prompts, lessons, games, competitions, and challenges alongside their new Quests adventure.

How does it work?

Quests is available on both our online program and iOS App, included with every Night Zookeeper subscription.

Children begin by creating a unique and colorful creature, known as a Wild. Their character becomes their companion through the adventure of their very first Quest! The journey starts with an engaging writing activity where children create a report about their Wild using supportive writing prompts that build confidence and creativity.

Once their Wild is ready, it’s time to embark on their first Quest! Each Quest is divided into a series of challenges, all covering one specific topic within the curriculum (based on the level of difficulty their account is set to, which can be amended at any time).

As they progress, children will encounter short lesson-style activities, challenges, and educational games that reinforce key reading and writing skills. With every correct answer, they earn exciting rewards such as sparks, den items, and new games, motivating them to keep learning and exploring new topics.

The curriculum progresses logically, keeping kids motivated to keep learning and explore brand new topics. And the fun doesn't stop there! The addition of Quests also brings brand new features to inspire kids even more, such as brand new writing prompts, games, and Dens!

In their den, your child can interact with the Wilds they’ve created and decorate their space using items they’ve earned. They can also prepare weird and wonderful dishes for their characters to eat and decorate the space with fantastically fun furniture such as monster desks, banana mirrors, and cactus drums!

Parents are able to track all of their child's progress, including detailed statistics of their correct answers, topics they have previously covered, and upcoming topics from the parent dashboard. This is perfect for not only monitoring the child's learning journey, but also celebrating their amazing achievements!
