Night Zookeeper’s spelling curriculum covers everything you might expect your child to learn in first grade, including vowels & consonants, sight words, and phonics, to topics required in higher grades, such as spelling patterns, prefixes & suffixes, and much more! Spelling words suddenly becomes fun and interesting for your child with our program.
Is Night Zookeeper for homeschoolers, or can it be used as a supplemental resource?
Whether you’re a homeschool parent, or a parent looking for additional ways to supplement your child’s learning, we’ve got you covered! While our program is a complete English reading & writing curriculum, it can also be used to level up the skills your child has acquired at school. Some families use Night Zookeeper as their homeschool English curriculum, while others reach for it as a way to build on writing skills taught at school!
How often should we use Night Zookeeper?
As Night Zookeeper covers the complete English National Curriculum & Language Arts Common Core Curriculum, we recommend consistent use for best results or improvement. Our program is very flexible and can be easily integrated with your child’s routine, but we suggest at least 30 minutes per day to ensure continuous progress.
What ages are best for this program?
Night Zookeeper is best for ages 6 to 12+, (US Grades 1 to 6, UK Years 1 to 6). When you join you’ll be able to select the age of your child, and this will change the type of lessons, challenges, games, and level of vocabulary that they will encounter. You can always adjust this in your dashboard.
Can I check my child’s progress?
You certainly can. When you join Night Zookeeper you will be given access to a parent dashboard where you can easily monitor your child’s achievements and the feedback they are receiving from their tutor.
Can I use this on a tablet?
Yes, Night Zookeeper works across tablets, PC’s, and laptops. We recommend using either on Safari, or Google Chrome browsers for best performance. We also have an iOS app available on mobile and tablet.
Is Night Zookeeper suitable for children with special educational needs?
Absolutely! Night Zookeeper has been proven to work well for children with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, amongst many other special educational needs (SEN). The flexibility of the program enables every child to learn at their own pace and according to their own needs, and the gamified experience breaks down barriers that many children face with traditional learning experiences.
Do you have a family subscription?
Yes, you can add more than one child to your account. Simply press, 'Start Trial', and then add the number of children you would like (up to 3). The price will be displayed on the screen.

The Spelling Grand Prix feature challenges, builds, and reinforces their skills in a race through interactive games such as Word Jumble, where they unscramble falling letter blocks to create a correctly spelled word.

Our challenges are highly engaging activities that really put skills to the test. Eek's Word Code is like Scrabble with a fun twist! Children are given letters to analyze, unscramble and place in the correct order to spell a certain word. The difficulty of challenges adapts to your child’s grade level to help them become a better speller.

Our pre-planned lessons are a great way to build your child's knowledge and understanding of spelling. Electro Spike Spelling, for example, focuses on prefixes and suffixes.
