As mentioned in the above video, we have provided an all inclusive lesson planning and resources document to help you complete the most basic form of the Night Zookeeper project in your school for free. Now simply register your class.

Full cross curricular project (Literacy, Art and ICT lessons)

The project, undertaken in a basic form, involves a unit of Literacy, Art and a single ICT lesson. The children are able to enjoy the Night Zookeeper story in full along with stimulating images. They will be able to develop their Literacy skills through the completion of differentiated learning activities. The learning outcomes of the project include:

• I can write a chapter for an existing story
• I can create my own imaginary animal
• I can upload an image to a website

Art Unit

The project can be delivered as a standalone Art project in which children are given the opportunity to create their own animal to be placed in the Night Zoo.

Creative curriculum day (One day)

The project is ideal for being delivered as a standalone creative curriculum day. This allows the children to become fully immersed in the world of the Night Zookeeper. They begin the day by listening to the story and sharing new animal ideas. They then move on to sketching, collage and painting their animal. The day concludes with the children learning how to input data and upload images onto our website.

The Night Zookeeper project is unique in that it not only gives all children the opportunity to be creative but it also allows them to be successful learners.
